Scope of work.

Office and retail electrical fit-outs

Plan power and lighting for offices and commercial retail outlets. Coordinate renovation, additions and alterations with the layout and building team.

Lighting calculations and installation

Use DIALux with manufacturers’ IES files to design lighting. Install fittings at the specified spacing and height to achieve the required illuminance.

Switchboard and cable design

Design main switchboards, sub-boards and distribution boards. Size circuit breakers and cables using Ecodial and Vipcoda, and install the power distribution system.

ELV and building coordination

Design and install ELV systems, coordinate electrical supply upgrades and confirm installation documentation and applicable approval requirements with the building representatives.

Information to prepare.

Share what you have. We can identify the remaining information together.

  • The proposed interior layout, equipment schedule and target occupation date.
  • Building electrical drawings and the landlord’s fit-out requirements.
  • Working-hour restrictions, access arrangements and any areas that remain occupied.

Agree the details before work begins.

Use these points to define the proposal, responsibilities and records your team needs. Final deliverables depend on the agreed scope.

  1. Before work

A coordinated layout and load schedule reflecting landlord and building requirements.

  2. During delivery

Clear boundaries for lighting, power, emergency systems and other building interfaces.

  3. At handover

Circuit schedules, agreed tests and operating information for the building team.

Good questions.
Clear answers.

When should electrical planning begin in a fit-out?

Start when the space layout and major equipment requirements are being developed. Early coordination makes it easier to resolve supply capacity, distribution-board positions and routes before finishes are fixed.

Can the design follow our interior designer’s layout?

Yes. The interior layout provides a starting point for lighting, power outlets and equipment connections. Electrical requirements should then be coordinated with ceilings, joinery and other building services.

What should a tenant provide before requesting a proposal?

Provide the proposed layout, equipment list and any landlord fit-out manual or existing electrical drawings. Include the intended opening date and restrictions on noisy work, deliveries or power interruptions.
